Gokarna is a small town located in the state of KarnATAKA, India. It is situated on the western coast of India, along the Arabian Sea and is known for its beautiful beaches and ancient temples. The town is considered to be one of the seven most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites in India, and is a popular destination for both tourists and devotees.

The most important temple in Gokarna is the Mahabaleshwar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow (Gokarna) at this location, and the temple is said to be one of the seven most sacred Shiva temples in India. The temple is also said to be the original source of the sacred river Aghanashini.
