Jesus, also known as Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ, is the central figure of the Christian religion. He is believed by Christians to be the Son of God and the savior of humanity, who was sent to Earth to teach people about God's love and forgiveness and to offer salvation to all who believe in him.
According to the New Testament of the Bible, Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea to Mary and Joseph, and grew up in Nazareth. He began his ministry at around age 30, preaching and teaching throughout the region and performing miracles such as healing the sick and feeding the hungry. His teachings focused on love, compassion, forgiveness, and the coming of God's Kingdom.
Jesus' ministry eventually led to his arrest and execution by crucifixion by the Roman authorities. Christians believe that Jesus' death and resurrection three days later was an act of sacrifice that made it possible for all people to be reconciled with God and receive eternal life.
The teachings of Jesus and the stories of his life and ministry are recorded in the four Gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus is revered by Christians as a model of selflessness, love, and service, and his teachings continue to inspire and guide believers around the world.
